Triton roof racks are made to last for years and can handle anything from a bicycle to a surfboard to even a small snowmobile. But you must watch for how any rack or roof basket you have is cared for. Several maintenance standards must be used so you can get the most out of such a basket.

Keep Them Apart

Your roof bike carrier must have its bars far apart from one another. Those bars should be about 700mm apart in most cases. This is enough to where the bars will be able to secure keep all kinds of typical loads together without being problematic.

Watch For the Capacity

The overall capacity for your rack should be reviewed. All Triton roof racks are capable of handling loads in certain totals. Some might handle hundreds of pounds at a time. Whatever the case is, do not try to overload your carrier.

Watch For the Straps

The straps that you use on your roof rack must be reviewed carefully. The straps may include sturdy nylon materials in most cases. Whatever the case is, don’t use any straps that are made of elastic as though might cause the racks to bend. The flexible nature of such straps might add far too much pressure onto a rack.

Drive Cautiously

Erratic driving while using your rack can cause that rack to shift or wear out over time. The great problem here is that the rack will weaken and lose its connection to the top of your car if it is not handled right.

When you accelerate or brake quickly while the rack is in use, it will add pressure to the rack. This causes it to lose its connection to the top part of your car. Also, side winds can cause the rack to shift if you drive erratically.

Look at how carefully you are handling your roof rack when getting it ready. Triton roof racks are made to last for a long time but only if you know how you keep them intact and strong.
